The contractor anticipates completing the project by the contract completion date of 9/8/05.

July 29, 2005 Underground construction on Meadow Hill will begin Tuesday, August 2. Meadow Hill will be closed during construction. The projected date of the closure is until September 2, 2005, but every reasonable effort is being made for an earlier completion date.

Initial signage is in place. Please observe the detour signs and caution signs in the work area.

July 22, 2005 Meadow Hill Road Closed for Construction. Planned for Tuesday August 2, 2005 Meadow Hill will be closed at its southern most end at County Line Road. Signage will be posted in advance of construction and the announced duration is for one month. The contractor has planned to complete the construction by the last week in August.

The other road work this year on Cuba (between Merri-Oaks and Plum Tree Road) Chapel, Healy and Honnycutt Roads will remain open to through traffic throughout construction.

July 18, 2005 Storm sewer on Cuba Road is complete. The contractor has begun sawcutting and pavement removal/shoulder excavation on Cuba Road, which will continue the rest of the week. After edge patching is completed, the binder (first layer of asphalt) will be placed, followed by rough grading operations and then placement of the surface course. Site restoration and final landscaping is weather dependent especially this season.

During the first week in August, the contractor anticipates beginning work on Meadow Hill Road. Surveyors from the office of the Village Engineer will mark the limits of construction prior to the start of any work. Signage announcing the road closure will be up prior to the road being closed.

Initial operations will be storm sewer construction, followed by earth excavation and tree removal, then placement of gutter section, concluding with the paving.

As a reminder for residents, the stakes with orange flagging marking the edge of the roadway are three-foot offset stakes: the actual edge of pavement will be located three feet from the stake.

July 5, 2005 Installation of a storm sewer continues this week on Cuba Road.

Site visits have occurred with structural engineers as well as utility representatives. The underground work is likely to be completed by the week of July 11th. The contractor plans in that same week pavement removal and shoulder excavation operations on Cuba Road.

Caution is advised through out the construction zone.
