1.3 Village of Barrington Hills Minutes of the Special Meeting of April 1, 2004 President Kempe called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. Present Absent James A. Kempe, President Julie McKevitt, Trustee Theodore L. Horne, Pro-Tem Robert G. Abboud, Trustee Fritz H. Gohl, Trustee Daria G. Sapp, Trustee Walter E. Smithe, Trustee Frederick Clauser, Police Chief Douglas Wambach, Village Attorney Certification by Local Election Board - President Kempe presented and read into the record the results of the public referendum question ("Shall the Village of Barrington Hills adopt Article 3 of the 'Illinois Police Pension Code' pertaining to the creation of a police pension fund?") as certified by the Village of Barrington Hills Election Board. The final tally resulted in 487 votes in favor of (approving) the question and 238 votes in opposition. Police Pension Ordinance - Trustee Horne motioned to adopt an ordinance amending the Village Code, creating a Village of Barrington Hills Police Pension Board. Trustee Abboud seconded. All present said aye. Ordinance 04-5 Appointment of Pension Board Trustees - Trustee Smithe motioned to approve the appointment of Peter Hyland to the Police Pension Board for a one-year term ending April 2005. Trustee Gohl seconded. All present said aye. Motion Approved Trustee Horne motioned to approve the appointment of Lynn F. White to the Police Pension Board for a two-year term ending April 2006. Trustee Sapp seconded. All present said aye. Motion Approved Police Board Election - President Kempe directed Chief Clauser to contact the new appointees in order to conduct statutorily-described elections for the remaining two Board members from the ranks of eligible Police Department employees.
