Village Board Meeting October 22, 2001 – page 2 Introduction of New Officer - Chief Clauser introduced Brian Baird, newly hired police officer, to the Board of Trustees. Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District – Paul Heinz made a formal announcement of a referendum to be held in 2002, distributed materials about the need for the referendum, and requested a resolution of support by the Board for firefighter appreciation. Abboud, Jr. Monthly Report – Trustee Abboud reported that road resurfacing on Helm Road is midway to completion, various patching projects are in progress, and that discussions on the 2002 Road Program have occured with the Village Engineer. TAC – Trustee Aboud deferred to Trustee McManus, who announced that the final meeting of TAC will be held at Barrington Village Hall on October 24, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. Trustee McManus motioned to pass a Resolution opposing the widening of State Route 59 though the Village of Barrington Hills. Trustee Abboud seconded. All present said aye. Resolution 01-21 FINANCE – Francine R. Fossler Treasurer's Report - Trustee Fossler motioned to accept the Treasurer's Report for the Month of September 2001. Trustee Horne seconded. All present said aye. Motion Approved Presentation of Bills – Trustee Fossler motioned to approve the payment of bills for October 2001 totaling $218,524.28. Trustee McManus seconded. Roll Call. All present said aye. Ayes: 7 (Sapp, Gohl, Abboud, Fossler, Horne, McManus, Kempe) Nays: 0 Absent: 0 Motion Approved Reserve Fund Resolution – Trustee Fossler motioned to adopt a resolution amending the Municipal Reserve Fund, designating no less than $1,200,000 of the General Fund balance, to adequately provide for the financial security of the Village. Trustee Abboud seconded. All present said aye. Resolution 01-22 PLANNING - Daria G. Sapp Subdivision Ordinance Amendment– Trustee McManus motioned to adopt the amendment to the Subdivision Ordinance as presented. Trustee Horne seconded. All present said aye. Ordinance 01-6 BUILDING & ZONING – Theodore L. Horne Building Report –There were 7 building permits approved in the month of September 2001. These include 2 demolitions, 2 additions, 1 alteration and 2 accessory buildings. Trustee Horne noted that building permits issued to date are 15% less than last year. ZBA Report – Trustee Horne reported that the Zoning Board of Appeals had granted a variance for square footage at 74 Meadow Hill Road ,and a setback variance was granted for an enclosed porch at 570 Merri Oaks Drive HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND INSURANCE - Daria G. Sapp Solid Waste Management – Trustee Sapp reported that a revised report was expected from BFI/Alliance. BUILDING AND GROUNDS – Fritz H. Gohl Monthly Report – No report was given. ATTORNEY – George Lynch Litigation – Attorney Lynch stated that certain matters of litigation will be addressed in Executive Session. Kempe National French Week – Trustee Horne motioned to proclaim the Village's support for National French Week, to be celebrated at Barrington High School. Trustee Sapp seconded.
