Trustee Sapp seconded. All present said aye. Motion Approved Trustee McManus motioned to approve the minutes of the Executive Session of April 23, 2001. Trustee Fossler seconded. All present said aye. Motion Approved PUBLIC SAFETY – Brian J. McManus Monthly Report – Trustee McManus deferred to Lt. Schuld who summarized the Police Report for the month of April 2001. Run for the Arts Permit – Trustee McManus motioned to issue a permit for the 2001 Run for the Arts contingent upon the presentation of a liability insurance certificate providing a total coverage of $5 million dollars for the event . Abboud, Jr. Monthly Report - Trustee Abboud reported that he had met with the Village Engineer regarding future road resurfacing and current road patching. Following discussion, Trustee Sapp requested the attendance of the Village Engineer at the June 2001 meeting. FINANCE – Francine R. Fossler Treasurer's Report - Trustee Fossler motioned to accept the Treasurer's Report for the month of April 2001. Trustee Horne seconded. All present said aye. Motion Approved Presentation of Bills – Trustee Fossler motioned to approve the payment of bills for April 2001 totaling $199,455.01. Trustee Horne seconded. Roll Call. Ayes: 7 (Sapp, Gohl, Abboud, Fossler, Horne, McManus, Kempe) Nays: 0 Absent: 0 Motion Approved Overtime – Trustee Fossler motioned to approve payment of $3,093.89 in overtime expenses for April 16 through 30, 2001 and $4,159.53 in overtime expenses for May 1 through 15, 2001. Sapp Plan Commission – Trustee Sapp reported that two items were on the agenda at the May meeting: Lakewood Homes pre-plat, second phase of Pond Gate Farm Subdivision, and Fairfield Estates. No action was taken. Village Board Meeting May 21, 2001-page 3 BUILDING & ZONING – Theodore L. Horne ZBA Report – Trustee Horne stated that the Zoning Board of Appeals had met and considered an application which was subsequently withdrawn. Building Reports –There were 10 building permits issued between April 16 through May 15, 2001. These include 1 demolition of a single family residence with barn and pool, 3 residential additions and alterations, 2 residential alterations, 2 inground swimming pools, and 2 septic system repairs. There were 73 inspections completed and no meetings attended during this time period. HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND INSURANCE - Daria G. Sapp Solid Waste Management – The April 2001 recycling report shows that 2.95 truckloads of recyclables had been diverted from landfills, which represents 59,020 pounds collected from an average of 655 homes serviced per week during that month. Environment – Trustee Sapp reported that the largest cottonwood tree in Lake County had been found at the Grigsby Prairie in Barrington Hills. BUILDING AND GROUNDS – Fritz H. Gohl, Jr. Monthly Report – Trustee Gohl reported that he had met with Robert Kosin regarding the lawn irrigation system activation and with the Landscape Committee representatives regarding replacement and replanting of damaged shrubs. ATTORNEY – Richard Burke Litigation – Attorney Burke stated that matters of litigation will be addressed in Executive Session. ADMINISTRATION – James A. Kempe Appointments – President Kempe appointed Michael Schmechtig and James J. O'Donnell to the Plan Commission for three-year terms. Trustee Sapp motioned to approve the appointments. Trustee McManus seconded. All present said aye. Motion Approved Committee Assignments – President Kempe named the following members of the standing committees as follows: Trustee McManus to Finance, Trustee Horne to Roads and Bridges, Trustee Gohl to Public Safety, Trustee Abboud to Building and Zoning, Trustee Fossler to Planning, Trustee Horne to Health, Environment and Insurance, Trustee Sapp to Buildings and Grounds, and Trustee Fossler to Personnel. Trustee Fossler motioned to accept the assignments. Trustee Abboud seconded. All present said aye.
