Specific Efforts of Communications Committee

The responsible trustee and the Village Strategic Plan will guide the efforts of the Communication Committee. These efforts are grouped under 5 focus areas: website, newsletter, special events or public meetings, external promotion, and technology.  Specific efforts will include but may not be limited to:

WEBSITE

1. Continued development and maintenance of the Village website.

2. Delivery of information describing the activities of the Village trustees.

3. Delivery of Village documentation on the Village website. This includes the Village Code and Comprehensive Plan.

4. Promotion of two-way communication between residents and the Village, including use of e-mail.

NEWSLETTER

1. Development and publishing of Village newsletter

2. Coordination of electronic and physical mailings to lower the Village’s cost to disseminate information.

3. Delivery of information describing the activities of the Village trustees.

4. Promotion of two-way communication between residents and the Village, including use of e-mail.

SPECIAL EVENTS/PUBLIC MEETINGS

1. Development of forums to increase Village/resident dialogue.

2. Promotion of resident participation.

EXTERNAL PROMOTION

1. Promotion of the Village as an environmental and open space oasis.

2. Promotion of the intrinsic value, unique community, and quality lifestyle of Barrington Hills within the real estate marketplace.

TECHNOLOGY

1. Improvement of cellular communication quality within the Village boundaries.

2. Monitoring of communication provider performance within the Village.

3. Assessment of new communications technologies for possible use within Barrington Hills.
